The Central College men’s and women’s soccer teams totaled eight players on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District list released Tuesday.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must play in 90% of a team’s contests at the varsity level or start in 66% of the games while achieving a 3.50 or better cumulative grade point average (4.00 scale). Each institution can nominate a limited number of players per gender.
On the men’s side, Lucas Bartachek, Alejo Marcon, Trysten Vasquez, and Gabe Wilson were recognized. The Dutch women’s team was represented by Grace Coates, Kaitlyn Isom, Bridget Lynch, and MiMi Pavelka.
Bartachek, an accounting and business management double major, maintains a 3.64 GPA. He started 13 of the team’s 17 games, playing 1,105 minutes. He recorded one assist. Marcon, a business management major, maintains a 3.73 GPA. He scored one goal and assisted on three others while starting 16 games. Vasquez, an undeclared major, maintains a 3.51 GPA. He started all 17 games, logging 1,369 minutes, and had two assists. Wilson, a biochemistry and biology double major, maintains a 3.53 GPA. He scored one goal and started 13 times.
Coates, a kinesiology major, maintains a 3.68 GPA. She led the Dutch with 15 goals scored, adding six assists. She was a first team choice to the American Rivers All-Conference team for the second year in a row. Isom, a psychology and political science double major, maintains a 3.61 GPA. She scored two goals and assisted on three others while starting 16 matches. Lynch, an engineering and mathematics double major, maintains a 3.92 GPA. She scored one goal and started 18 times, playing 1,601 minutes. Pavelka, a kinesiology major, maintains a 4.00 GPA. She scored two goals and started all 18 games.
The Dutch women finished 9-5-4 overall and 4-3-1 in the American Rivers Conference, while the Central men were 7-8-2 overall and 3-5-0 in the league.
