It may be a lot of shuffling lineups and finding out what pieces fit with the Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad early on this season. Coach Troy Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS Sports as many as 10-12 guys could play giving everyone is healthy. Pearson adds there are a lot of pieces to this season’s puzzle and it may take time to get to the finished product.
Pearson: “We’re looking to see how the pieces fit together. We’re looking at 10-12 kids that can play, and we have to see what scoring, rebounding and other things can be together, since we have kids that need to work on various things, so we’re looking forward to seeing what we find out.”
While some of the pieces will not be able to play right away due to injury, the Panthers will have some scoring punch coming back from an 11-10 season last year. Kaiden Smith, the 6-4 post player who was lost for most of the last half of the season last year is back and looks to begin his junior season on Tuesday. Also Landen Norris, who Pearson adds has worked out a lot during the offseason, and the outside shooting of Gabe Clark, Drake Larson, and Carson Uitermarkt will figure into the Panthers’ success. Knoxville gets the season started against PCM on Tuesday, a game you can hear live on 95.3 KNIA.
