Iowa Sports Turf is working on a full field renovation of the PCM High School baseball field.
The existing grass and infield materials have been removed and the initial grading of the field has been completed. According to PCM Facilities Director Rusty Vos, Iowa Sports Turf recently began installing the new irrigation system for the field and says that it should hopefully be completed this week. Once the irrigation system is in place, a final grading will take place before work ceases for the winter. Vos adds that the project will pick back up in the spring and that the project should be done in time for the start of the baseball season.
“This spring when the weather turns back to warm, we’ll get the sod put down and then get the rest of the irrigation hooked up on the outside. And along with our dugouts, we’re going to be working on a plan for our dugouts to get those completed hopefully by spring and have it all ready to go for baseball in May.”
