team-3

The Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad fell in a frustrating game to Bondurant-Farrar on Monday 46-40 heard live on 95.3 KNIA. The Panthers like last Tuesday started slowly on the offensive end scoring just two points in the 1st quarter, but caught fire in the 2nd quarter finally seeing three point shots fall including Anna Buttell who along with Addy Dunkin shot the Panthers back into the game and had a lead briefly just before halftime. The 2nd half was more of the same as Knoxville started slowly but got the lead down to one before the BlueJays lengthened the lead to double figures and it was too much for Knoxville to come back from. Coach Matt Ritchhart told KNIA/KRLS Sports the offense was being run well, but the ball just did not go through the net enough.

Ritchhart: “I thought we had good ball movement, got wide open, and we’re just struggling getting the ball to go through the net. 38 points Tuesday and 40 tonight, you’re not going to win many games averaging 39 points per game. I thought our defense was good.”

Brittany Bacorn led the Panthers with 12 points. Knoxville falls to 0-2 on the season and will begin conference play Friday night at Cardinal.
