The Pella girls wrestling team split their fortunes and the home team was swept in a triangular with the Dutch and Trojans in Pleasantville Tuesday. Carlisle ultimately toppled the Dutch and Trojans, with Pella falling 42-39, which was ultimately decided in the final match. Elizabeth Thomas, Emmalee Spurgeon, Elaine Babcock, Serenity Turner, and Isabella Smith all won their contested matches. Spurgeon and Ellison Ritzert earned contested victories over Pleasantville as part of a 54-12 win.

Pella Head Coach Adam Hale:
“It was a lot of fun getting to have a couple of duals tonight. I think it’s another good indicator of the growth our sport is experiencing. More teams with fuller lineups means more chances to square off head to head. The dual atmosphere can be such a fun, more intense one. It will be exciting to see that part of the sport continue to bloom.”

Carlisle defeated Pleasantville by a 63-6 margin, with their lone win in that contest belonging to Madilyn Rowson. Maggie Gasparovich and Ella Clark each earned pinfall wins over Pella in their matches.

Both the Dutch and Trojans return to action at a tournament in Newton Saturday.
