The Webb Shadle Public Library in Pleasantville is holding the Festival of Art, hosted by Pleasantville Elementary Art Teacher Ashley Robinson starting on Friday.
The festival will feature holiday artwork from students in transitional kindergarten through sixth grade and trees that have been decorated by local groups, businesses, and individuals. Hours for the Festival of Art are 10 am-noon and 1-5 pm Friday, Monday, and Tuesday, 9 am-noon on Saturday, and 10 am-6 pm on Wednesday. Director of the Webb Shadle Public Library Jo Ellen Glick says that she enjoys seeing the children’s excitement as they come to the library to view the art and celebrate the holiday season.
“The school brings over some of their classes and then I ended up reading a story to them and then we go in the back room because the East Room where it’s all on display, and the children get to go around and look at all the artwork and see their special crafts, put on display and it’s just fun watching them get all excited to see all the holiday festivities.”
