Drought conditions remained unchanged throughout Marion and Warren Counties in the latest weekly update, despite last weekend’s snowfall. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, extreme drought — the third highest on the national scale, is once again in place in portions of southern Marion and Warren Counties. According to the update, just over 32% of Marion County and just shy of 20% of Warren County are at that rating. The rest of the region is primarily in severe drought, with the northeastern part of Marion County rated at moderate. According to the National Weather Service, chances for snow return to the forecast tomorrow night into Sunday morning, but little-to-no significant precipitation is expected with that system.
