The dance team from Pella High School narrowly missed winning three state championships in 2022. With the majority of those girls returning to this week’s Iowa State Dance and Drill Team Association competition, the group was able to complete the challenge this winter. Pella Forte won first place in Class V Jazz, Class XII Pom, and Class II Military. This is the fifth consecutive year that Pella has won the military dance state title, and they were also recognized with the Judge’s Choice Award, the highest possible honor at the annual event. Pella also earned the distinguished academic award, and seniors Stella Stelpflug and Olivia Cunningham won senior scholarships.
