The PCM girls and boys basketball teams defeated Heart of Iowa Conference opponent Perry Tuesday night in a varsity doubleheader.
The Mustang girls defeated the Blue Jays 46-19 and leaned on another strong defensive effort throughout the night. Perry was held to just five total points in the first half. PCM was led in scoring by Addison Steenhoek, who scored ten points in the contest. The win moves the PCM girls to 7-1 on the season and 4-0 in the conference. PCM Coach Sami Allison-Rodriguez tells KNIA/KRLS sports that she is happy with her team’s defensive effort and hopes the offense gets clicking soon.
The Mustang boys defeated the Blue Jays 67-51 and were led in scoring by Jack Jungling who had 11 points in the contest. The PCM boys improve to 4-3 on the season and 3-1 in the conference after the win. PCM boys coach Tony Ford tells KNIA/KRLS sports that his team did a nice job of sharing the ball during the game and did well executing on the defensive side of the ball.
Both teams will be back in action on Friday when they host Roland-Story, a doubleheader that can be heard live on the KRLS3 stream.
