The Norwalk girls wrestlers won their final dual of the day and finished with a 1-4 record in Thursday’s Battle of Waterloo tournament at Young Arena.

The Warriors placed eighth in Bracket B, losing to Waverly-Shell Rock (70-6), BCLUW-SH (48-24) and North Scott (66-18). In Pool 8, the Warriors lost to Waterloo West 36-28 before defeating Waterloo East 30-18.

Sophomore 170-pounder Katie Liedtke led Norwalk with three pins on the day while Madelyn Carroll added two pins at 120 and Madison Froehle won by pin and major decision at 105. Also picking up pins for the Warriors were Hannah Smith, Maggie Evans and Masie Silvius.

The Norwalk and Indianola boys wrestling teams are at the Battle of Waterloo on Friday and Saturday, beginning dual competition today at 4:00 p.m.
