For the second straight game, Landen Norris scored a career high, and the Knoxville Boys basketball Squad got another blowout win over a South Central Conference squad on Friday 93-64 over Centerville, while the girls were able to gradually pull away from the Reddetts for a 66-33 win heard live on kniakrls.com KRLS2. Norris became just the fourth Panther in school history to score at least 40 points in a game joining such greats as Kieren Nichols, Brad Davis and Kevin Long. Panthers Coach Troy Pearson told KNIA/KRLS Sports Norris has put in the work and it is starting to show.

Pearson: “He wasn’t a volume shooter to get 40. He wasn’t forcing things. The kid put in a ton of work in the offseason and I don’t think I’ve ever met a harder worker than Landen and it’s good to see that pay off.”

It took until late in the 2nd quarter for Knoxville to finally shake Centerville as the Panthers used a 13-3 run to get some distance. The girls methodically took control and for the most part dominated their game with Centerville using an 11-0 run in the 1st quarter to take control. Hannah Dunkin scored 21 points to lead Knoxville who limited Centerville to single digits in three of the four quarters. The girls improve to 4-3 and 4-1 in the South Central Conference ,while the boys are 5-1 and 4-1 in the SCC. Both Knoxville squads will head to Pella for the Red Rock Rivalry on Tuesday.
