Origin Homes has broken ground on five new homes in Knoxville’s new Veteran’s District.
The West Des Moines based company started digging the basements for five new homes in Knoxville’s newest development on Tuesday. In August, Governor Kim Reynolds announced awards that will be given for the Workforce Housing Tax Credit and Origin Homes was awarded credits to build homes at the Veteran’s District in Knoxville. These roughly 1,340 square foot, two bed, two bath homes are expected to be completed in the spring of 2024 and qualify for the USDA 502 Direct Home Loan Program financing. Origin Homes Director of Operations Matt Daniels is grateful for the support of the community in securing the home credits.
“I want to say thanks to a lot of the local businesses in the area for the local support and helping us get the credit. Weiler, 3M, Hormel, Knoxville Hospital, and schools just to name a few. They were critical in helping us get the credit.”
Eleven total lots have been sold in the Veterans District and nine are currently under construction.
