Rounds of rain showers impacted the area over the Christmas holiday as extreme drought recently spread in the region. According to the National Weather Service, many rain gauges received between 3/4″ to 1 1/4″ of needed precipitation.

Lake Red Rock – .75″
Knoxville – .78″
Indianola – 1.2″
Melcher-Dallas – 1.01″

Much drier and cooler conditions will settle into the region after the holiday, with daytime highs in the mid 30s to lower 40s continuing through the New Year, and little to no precipitation expected.
