Through their first nine games of the young season, the Pella Christian girls basketball team has four girls among the top five of several stat categories in the Little Hawkeye Conference.
Junior Faith Kacmarynski is the league leader in assists so far this winter with 41, while also ranking third in the Little Hawkeye in steals with 26 and fifth in field goal attempts with 89. Freshman Rachel Kacmarynski is second in all rebounding categories in the conference through her first nine career varsity contests. So far, Rachel has posted 81 total, 32 offensive, and 49 defensive rebounds, trailing only Oskaloosa’s Dasia Foster in all three marks. In addition to being one of the top rebounders, Rachel is second in field goal percentage at 59.7% and fifth in blocks with five. Joining Rachel as one of the leaders in the conference in field goal percentage is sophomore Addie Van Arendonk. Addie has knocked down 52.1% of her shot attempts this season, the fourth highest mark in the league. Joining those three on the leaderboards is freshman Jessa De Vries, whose 56 three-point attempts ranks fourth in the conference.
At the holiday break, the Pella Christian girls basketball team holds a 3-6 record. The Eagles return to the court Friday, January 5th for a conference doubleheader at Pella.
