At roughly the halfway point of their season, the PCM girls basketball team’s record stands at 7-3 at the winter break.
The Mustang girls started off the season with a loss to Chariton, but followed that up with a seven game winning streak. Helping contribute to that stretch, was PCM’s suffocating defensive effort, that saw them limit all seven opponents to fewer than 40 points. The seven game streak included wins against Knoxville, Pella Christian, Greene County, Saydel, West Marshall, North Mahaska, and Perry. After moving to 7-1 on the season, the Mustang girls dropped their last two games before the break, falling to Roland-Story and North Mahaska to move to 7-3 overall and 4-2 in the Heart of Iowa Conference. The PCM girls have been led in scoring this season by sophomore Tori Lindsay with 11.9 points per game and junior Addison Steenhoek with 11.6.
The Mustang girls will be back in action on January 4th when they host Montezuma.
