Another successful calendar year has wrapped up at Pleasantville Community Schools, and one of the highlights for the district in 2023 was the addition of a three year old preschool program.
The district began evaluating the possibility of adding the program last January and the school board unanimously approved to create it at the meeting in February. Superintendent Tony Aylsworth said that the program was a need in the community and that it has been a successful addition already.
“When I think about the needs of the community here, a community that takes pride in education but also maybe has lacked in childcare options and early childhood education options, I’m just so proud of the fact that we’re able to bring that together and execute that. We’re already seeing great results from kids. Families seem to really enjoy this opportunity to get their three year olds in preschool a little bit sooner here and so that’s been a major success for us this school year.”
