Getting ready for the second half of their season, the Pella Christian girls basketball team will try to translate the progress they’ve seen in their ball security in practice to game situations.
The Eagles struggled with turnovers in their first nine games of the season, averaging 24.1 per contest. Pella Christian head coach Brendan Foughty says that the team has been working on reducing their number of turnovers in games, but adds that the next step in that growth is translating what they are practicing into their contests.
“We’re just really working on the things that we can control and we’re seeing growth. Now translating that growth from practice to a game is a whole other level, it’s difficult when the spotlight is on, so we’re gonna grow. It may not be at the pace that we all want it to be, but I’m confident that this group is going to continue to get better.”
The Eagles are currently 3-6 on the season, and they will look to pick up win number four when they return from Christmas break on Friday at cross-town rival Pella.
