The Melcher-Dallas Basketball Squads come back to the court tonight after a little over two weeks away as the Saints travel to Murray. The girls are having their best start in over a decade standing at 8-3 this season and already possessing a 27 point win over the Mustangs in early December. While the scoring is one of the strongest areas of the girls squad, Coach Kelsey Goff tells KNIA Sports she wants to clean up the turnovers.
Goff: “The turnovers I would like to see cut down. The traveling ones when we change our pivot foot, and I know girls sometimes don’t understand when they change their pivot foot, but some of those things cut down on turnovers so we can get more shots up.”
The boys are still searching for their first win, but Coach Matt Bennett is seeing progress after every game. The Saints lost big to Murray in early December, but Bennett says seeing Murray for a second time he hopes for a different outcome. Girls tip is 6:00.
