The first of two Tulip City basketball showdowns will feature a fundraiser to support scholarships for students at both schools. Pella Dollars for Scholars is hosting their annual pulled pork supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. this Friday before the Pella vs. Pella Christian varsity doubleheader. Proceeds from the meal — another of which will be held on Eagle Lane when the teams meet again on February 2nd, benefit scholarships given to local students. Over the past 25 years, Pella Dollars for Scholars has provided nearly $1.5 million in financial assistance to Pella and Pella Christian students in their postsecondary education journeys, and over the past few years, have added some opportunities for homeschool students as well.
