The Norwalk boys wrestling team finished 3-0 at the Marshalltown Quad on Thursday night while the Norwalk girls had two first-place finishes at the Nevada Round Robin Tournament.

The Warrior boys improved their dual record to 11-5 overall. They defeated Des Moines East 50-17, Marshalltown 49-27 and Des Moines North/Hoover 78-3. Norwalk won 22 out of 31 contested matches on the night, recording 16 pins, one technical fall and a major decision.

Warrior wrestlers with three pins included Liam McLaughlin, Tyler Stanford and Kolton Borcherding-Johnson. Tyler Harper and Tate Turner both pinned their only two opponents of the meet while Victor Esparza, Madox Ward and Harrison Tripp all won once by fall. Blake Lee scored a tech fall win and Tripp added a major decision.

Eight Norwalk girls competed at Nevada, including six at the varsity level. Madison Froehle and Hannah Smith placed first in the 105 B and 115 C brackets, respectively, both going 2-0 with a pair of pins. Madelyn Carroll took second at 120 C and Katie Liedtke was second at 170 B. Both girls went 1-1 on the night, including a pin by Carroll.

The Norwalk wrestlers will compete again on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. The boys will host Ankeny Centennial, Cedar Rapids Washington and Knoxville. The girls head to Carlisle for a scramble against the Wildcats, Indianola and Williamsburg.
