Head Coach Adam Hale:
“I’m happy with our overall results tonight, but we do have some things to clean up in our last couple of weeks before our postseason run. I thought there were moments where we were a bit flat-footed and too tentative. I’m willing to concede that some of that may be due to not being able to practice for the last couple of days with the weather, but not all of it. It was nice to see our seniors get some good wrestling in tonight. Emmalee, Elaine, Ellison, and Macy ended up a combined 10-2 with seven pins on the night. I was happy with the small adjustments Emmalee made in finishing off getting a couple of her pins. Elaine did a nice job of continuing to wrestle through some tough spots. It was great seeing Ellison really being aggressive tonight. Macy continues to really impress in her transition to the mat hanging with some tough girls during just her fourth week of wrestling. Our seniors have really meant a lot to this program. We’ve got a group that consists of members who collectively portray what we want to see from girls in our program: hard working, showing up everyday, excelling in the classroom (that might be underselling it for this group), great hearts, and coachable.”
