In the latest edition of the National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III rankings released Friday, the Central College men’s wrestling team jumped into a tie for #11 in the tournament team poll.

The Dual Team Rankings were also released Friday and Central maintained its ground at No. 16. Tournament Team Rankings are not based on a team’s dual strength, but rather calculated based on individual rankings.

Individually, Pierre Baldwin moved up to #4 at 141 pounds and Gage Linahon improved by one slot to #5 at 197 pounds. Baldwin is 26-1 this season with victories against #10 Brad Rosen from North Central College (Ill.) and #6 Sam Stuhl from Augsburg University (Minn.). He’s twice been named the American Rivers Conference Men’s Wrestler of the Week for his performance and has won four individual tournament titles. Linahon is 23-3 this season, with his only Division III losses coming against #3 Parker Venz of Augsburg University (Minn.) and #10 Gabe Zierden of Concordia College-Moorhead (Minn.). He’s won 13 matches by either fall or technical fall.

Central travels to Waverly next Saturday for the American Rivers Conference duals against Buena Vista University, University of Dubuque and Wartburg College.
