The Pleasantville girls and boys basketball teams will host Van Meter tonight in a West Central Conference varsity doubleheader.
Both the boys and girls teams had two games canceled last week due to weather. The Trojan girls are coming off a 58-55 loss to Interstate 35 in their last contest on January 5th to move to 5-7 overall on the season. They will now face the 7-5 Bulldogs who are coming off a 62-32 win over Interstate 35 in their last game. The Trojan girls have been led in scoring all season by junior Joelle Johnson who is averaging 21.8 points per game.
The Trojan boys are coming off a 64-49 victory over Interstate 35 in their last contest to improve to 4-6 overall on the season. Pleasantville will now face the 6-5 Bulldogs who are coming off a 71-35 win over Interstate 35 in their last contest. The Trojan boys have been led in scoring all season by freshman Braylon Bingham who is averaging 21.3 points per game.
Tonight’s varsity doubleheader starts with the girls game at 6:00 pm and the boys game to follow.
