The most prolific receiver in Iowa High School football history and one of the greatest to play at Dordt University continues to expand his role as a coach.

Defenders Head Coach Joel Penner announced that Pella Christian graduate Levi Jungling is now the offensive coordinator for the NAIA program. Jungling has been an assistant coach with the Defenders since his playing career ended in 2021, wrapping up as the school’s all-time leading receiver.

“I’m honored to serve the Dordt football program in this new capacity,” said Jungling. “As both a player and coach, I’ve been deeply invested in this program’s pursuit of Industry Standard football. I’m fired up to continue contributing to the growth of Dordt Football as the leader of the offense.”

Levi is one of the greatest athletes to ever compete at Pella Christian High School. Jungling’s 3,818 yards receiving in his career as an Eagle and 1,602 yards in 2015 are both the best all-time among 11-player teams. Jungling was also top ten in career receptions and touchdowns heading into the 2023 season. Levi was also a standout on the basketball court, scoring 1,620 points — among the top 100 ranked all-time statewide, and leading P.C. to three consecutive top three Class 2A finishes.

Jungling will be featured on an upcoming edition of “Today’s Lely Radio Sports Page,” which airs weekdays on 92.1 KRLS.
