The 12th annual Winterim at Pella Christian, which presents students the opportunity to experience unique classes, internships, and out-of-state trips, wrapped up on Wednesday, January 10th.
More than 40 businesses welcomed Pella Christian students over six-days, and three groups left Pella for trips to Florida, Guatemala, and the Bahamas. Senior Claire Winn-Fogle was one of the students that traveled to Guatemala, and said that one of her big takeaways from the Winterim experience was the hospitality of the locals.
“The people in Guatemala were so hospitable to us. We got to live with host families for a week, and they were so hospitable and just cared for our needs and put us first all week, so that was really nice to see. And just to be a part of it made me more grateful for our country that we live in and just made me come home more grateful for what I have.”
