The deadline for nominations for the Marion County Development Commission’s annual Top 10 Under 40 awards is next week.

The purpose of the awards honoring 10 young professionals in the Red Rock area is to highlight the impact that young adults are making in Marion County, encourage young adults to become involved as volunteers, and highlight the benefits for young adults to live and work in Marion County. Nominees must live and work in Marion County and be between the ages of 18 to 40 years old on December 1st, 2023. Executive Director of Marion County Development Carla Eysink says that the awards also help attract people to move to the area and encourages residents to nominate those under 40 that are making an impact locally.

“We really hope to inspire other young professionals to move to the Red Rock area, and by showing the great stories of the people who have been successful here, it helps us in that aspect. And we also want to honor those people that we do have here that are young, taking leadership roles, not only with their employer, but also in our communities. And so, if you know someone, please go on and nominate them. It’s a very simple nomination and it’s a very rewarding experience for those young professionals to be recognized.”

Nominations are due by January 31st. For questions, contact the Marion County Development Commission at carla@redrockarea.com. Find a link to the nomination form here.
