Traveling to Ames to compete in the first of two matches this week, the Pella Christian bowling teams were swept by Gilbert Thursday afternoon. The Eagle boys fell to the Tigers 3015-2015, while the Pella Christian girls squad lost to Gilbert 2132-1364. Evan DeJong led the way for the Eagle boys in the match with a score of 342, followed by Andrew VanKooten at 393 and Finn Spronk with a two game score of 284. The Eagle girls were led Thursday by Caitlin Veenstra at 227, followed by Emmalee Steen at 206, and Bella Pu at 199. The Pella Christian bowling teams fell to 0-7 on the season and wrap up their week on Saturday with a trip to May City Bowl in Cedar Rapids for a non-conference meet against Isaac Newton Christian Academy.
