The #2 Indianola boys wrestling team defeated Ankeny Tuesday night to advance to the State Dual Tournament 45-15. The Indians began with big wins from the lower weights against a strength of the Hawks, but Mac Crosson at 113lbs and Stoney Wood at 120lbs earned wins to put Indianola up 6-0, but Ankeny would get a win by fall to tie the score. Ryan Young at 132lbs earned a clutch win by fall to get the lead back up to six, and Eli Cox got a win at 138lbs for the Indians to get ahead 15-6. After Ankeny got three back, Jake Pontier at 150lbs, AJ Pontier at 157lbs, Ethan McDonald at 165lbs, Dax Clatt at 175lbs, Isaiah Kellow at 190lbs, Carson Slorah at 215lbs, and Jaxson Boyd at heavyweight won in succession, with Kellow and Boyd winning via the pin to seal the dual.
Seniors McDonald and Boyd said after the dual the home crowd hyped them up and helped the squad earn the win.

The Indianola girls basketball team fell to #4 Waukee 73-36, while the boys fell 85-56. Both teams next play on the road at Dallas Center-Grimes on Friday.
