The PCM girls and boys basketball teams fell on the road Tuesday night to Roland-Story in a Heart of Iowa Conference varsity doubleheader, a game heard live on the KRLS3 stream. 

The Mustang girls struggled putting together much offense in their contest, and keeping the powerful scoring attack of the #4 ranked Roland-Story girls in check as they fell to the Norseman 75-40. The loss drops the PCM girls to 13-5 overall on the season and 9-3 in the conference. The Mustang girls were led in scoring on the night by junior Addison Steenhoek who had 14 points. PCM coach Sami Allison-Rodriguez says playing a team like Roland-Story just threw them off their rhythm a little bit.

“They play deep, they play aggressive the entire time, and unfortunately just got us a little bit out of rhythm. We will learn from that and hopefully be ready Friday to give our best effort in front of the home crowd.”

The Mustang boys fell in their contest to the Norseman 71-53 to fall to 9-9 overall and 6-6 in the conference. The PCM boys hung with Roland-Story in the first half just facing a five point deficit at the end of the first quarter and a manageable 11 point deficit at halftime. However, the Norseman offense caught fire in the third quarter, out scoring the Mustangs 27-18 to put the contest out of reach. The PCM boys were led in scoring on the night by senior Jake Wendt and junior Kaleb Devries who each had 11 points.

The PCM girls and boys basketball teams will be back in action on Friday when they host South Hamilton in another conference doubleheader.
