A chance to get a couple of non-conference wins is in front of the Melcher-Dallas Basketball Squads tonight as Cardinal will be the opponent. The girls have been on a roll all season posting a 14-3 record and winning the Bluegrass Conference Tournament title last weekend. The Saints are now looking to build confidence going into the class 1A regional, which the pairings came out on Wednesday and has the Saints hosting a first round game against Moulton-Udell on February 8th at Southeast Warren. Coach Kelsey Goff tells KNIA Sports the goals are simple, to win a couple of games to advance in the regional this season.
Goff: “You’re looking to see what other team we can pick off, and see what other teams we belong with and I can’t believe the season is almost over with districts around the corner.”
The Melcher-Dallas boys have been getting better in the second half of the season and will play a Carindal team that has not been competitive in many of its games. Tip off from Southeast Warren is set for 6:30.
