The Knoxville Public Library is holding a chess hour for young adults on Wednesday afternoons in the month of February.

The chess hour is for young adults ages 12-18 and takes place from 3:45-5:00 pm. It is an opportunity to challenge other players in the community and brush up on your chess skills. Knoxville Public Library Adult Services Librarian Heather Libby says this is one of the library’s most popular programs.

“We have chess boards set up in the meeting room and some tasty snacks too. Ms. Holly helps everyone pair up. It’s a great chance and openly encouraged for young players of all skill levels. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced player there will be someone there to help you learn, play with you, to challenge you. It’s a great program and really a bright spot in the winter.”
