The Pleasantville boys basketball team defeated ACGC on the road Friday night for their seventh straight win and the girls fell short in a West Central Conference varsity doubleheader.
The Trojan boys defeated the Chargers 62- 57 to improve to 11-7 overall and 6-6 in the conference. The Pleasantville boys have been one of the hottest teams in the conference as of late winning their seventh straight game and nine out of their last ten contests. The Trojan boys were led in scoring by senior Dayson Leerhoff who had 26 points and freshman Braylon Bingham who had 23.
The Trojan girls struggled coming up with any offense and fell in their contest to the Chargers 66-11 while playing without leading scorer Joelle Johnson and starter Kyleigh McConnell due to injury. The loss drops the Pleasantville girls to 6-13 overall and 3-9 in the conference. The Trojan girls were led in scoring by junior Emily Roe who had five points.
The Pleasantville girls and boys basketball teams will be back in action on Monday when they host Des Moines Christian in another conference doubleheader.
