Norwalk Community senior Grace Dehmer was recently named the Iowa High School Athletic Director Association’s Central District Female Student Scholarship Winner for 2024. She was selected from a large pool of highly-talented student-athletes in the Central Iowa region, and is now eligible for the state award.

Dehmer was recognized during Tuesday night’s Norwalk basketball games vs. DC-G and presented with a plaque and check from the IHSADA.

To qualify for the District Scholarship, students must obtain a grade point average of B+ or higher, a composite ACT score of 24 and be ranked in the top 25 percent of their class. They must also have participated in two sports for at least two years and earned at least one varsity letter in each sport.

The scholarship recognizes the distinguished scholastic, leadership, and citizenship attributes of high school student-athletes, and the importance of high school athletics in each student’s life.

Dehmer has earned multiple varsity letters in the sports of volleyball, tennis and softball during her Warrior career.
