A quick start helped Coach Trevor Miller and the Pleasantville Trojans Girls Basketball team move their record to a spotless 4-0 Friday night with a 50-39 win in Leon over Central Decatur. The Trojan defense held the Cardinals in single digits through the first half while the Pleasantville offense built a 25-9 halftime advantage. Morgan Lauer had a big first half totaling 10 points. In the second half the Trojans would see their lead stretch to as many as 20 before the Cardinals put together a second half run. In the 4th quarter the veteran leadership of Pleasantville won out over the inexperience of a Central Decatur team that does not have a single senior on the roster. Alessia Luna went seven of eight at the line in clutch situations in the final period to help put the game away. Konner Gordon led the way for Pleasantville with a game high 15 points. Pleasantville now stands at 1-0 in the Pride of Iowa Conference and will next be in action at home on Tuesday when they take on the Wayne Community Falcons.
