The Webb Shadle Public Library in Pleasantville will be holding multiple author events in the coming months. 

On Friday, February 23rd at 6 pm, author Hank Kohler will join the library to share his book “One4Water” detailing his 70-day canoe journey from Minnesota to the Gulf of Mexico. During the event, Kohler will narrate his journey, its mission, and the background that led to the expedition. The Webb Shadle Public Library will then host author Jamie Ogle at 10 am on Saturday, March 2nd. A resident of Central Iowa, Ogle will be speaking about her latest book “Of Love and Treason”. 

Author and Historical Researcher Linda McCann will join the library on Friday, March 22nd to share beginner genealogy steps. McCann, who has written 15 nonfiction Iowa history books and has 40 years of genealogy experience, will also share information on resources to use for researching genealogy. On Friday, April 19th, Webb Shadle will also be hosting Dave Baker. An author, researcher, storyteller, and photographer for the Iowa history blog “The 29th State”, Baker will be sharing stories about Wheeling, Kimball, Bauer, Dunreath, and other towns underneath Lake Red Rock.  

All four author events at the Webb Shadle Public Library are free and open to the public.
