The Knoxville Basketball Squads split their games with Oskaloosa on Monday with the girls falling 58-43 and the boys winning 74-63 heard live on 95.3KNIA. The girls for a quarter had Oskaloosa’s Desia Foster bottled up, but she awakened in the 2nd quarter and was mostly unstoppable for the rest of the game. Knoxville’s shooting was off and that also contributed to the loss. Hannah Dunkin scored 17 points to lead the Panthers. The boys got balanced scoring with four Panthers in double figures and pulled away from a tight contest late to post the win. Coach Troy Pearson told KNIA/KRLS Sports it was an all around good night for his team.
Pearson: “Shot the ball really well in that 2nd half. Jay had a good game, Carson had a game. I was pleased but overall all of the aspects of the game. That Roach kid from Oskaloosa came in so we knew he was really good.”
Jay Kellar led four Knoxville players in double figures with 18 points, 17 from Landen Norris, 15 from Carson Uitermarkt and 12 from Kaiden Smith. The girls are 9-9 on the season while the boys are 11-6. Both teams turn around and host Centerville tonight. Both games can be heard live on 95.3 KNIA beginning at 6:00.
