The Warren County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.

The board approved a 28E Agreement with the City of Indianola and City of Carlisle regarding the project to make Warren County Dispatch, which serves the emergency departments of the county into its own entity, separate from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. The agreement forms the Warren County Communications Center, known as WarrenComm, which will receive funding from the cities of the county including Indianola and Carlisle, and potentially Norwalk.

Overseeing WarrenComm will be elected officials from communities who use the service, with the rural services represented by a County Supervisor and a representative selected by the rural entities. The agreement is the beginning of the organization of WarrenComm, and is still pending approval from the Indianola and Carlisle city councils.

The agreement was passed in a 2-1 vote, with Supervisors McIntyre voting against, citing questions about the rural representation in the organization, among other concerns.

The board also held a discussion regarding the Administration Building Interior Project, where they authorized county staff to spend up to $10,000 for board for technical assistance and the board to receive proposals on how to move forward.

The board approved the sale and conveyance of the abandoned railroad bed, the sale of multiple capital assets by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office including a disabled vehicle and a malfunctioning metal detector.

The board also approved an Entrance Variance Application, of General Assistance Funding Guidance for Rental, Utilities and Funeral Assistance Policy, and appointed Mark Snell to the North and Middle Rivers Watershed Authority.
