The Warren County Supervisors approved a 28E Agreement with the cities of Indianola and Carlisle to form a new partnership entity, the Warren County Joint Communications Center, or WarrenComm. WarrenComm will be the new dispatch office, which is currently under the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

Warren County Attorney Doug Eichholz tells KNIA News a board will be selected to oversee WarrenComm, which will have representatives from Indianola, Carlisle, Warren County, and the rural members of the county.

“The board is going to be a five-member board. There will be a member from the City of Indianola, City of Carlisle, and the Warren County Board of Supervisors. So the fourth person would be from the rural parts of the county, so anyone who is not within the city limits of Indianola or Carlisle, and is served by WarrenComm, and the fifth person is anyone who is served by WarrenComm.”

Eichholz also said the three permanent members of the board from Indianola, Carlisle, and the Board of Supervisors, will select the additional two members. The agreement is still pending approval from the Indianola and Carlisle City Councils. For more information, tune in to today’s Let’s Talk Indianola.
