The Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad fell in its final regular season game as the Panthers fell to Chariton on Wednesday 47-35. Knoxville trailed by two at halftime and Coach Matt Ritchhart they played well defensively in the 1st half, but went to a full court press in the 2nd half and shut the Panthers completely down. Brittany Bacorn led with 15 points. Knoxville finishes the regular season at 10-10 and will host Perry next Wednesday in the 1st round of the class 4A regional. Meanwhile, the Knoxville boys have a date with the defending class 3A champions Bondurant-Farrar. While the Bluejays are not the juggernaut they were last season, Panthers Coach Troy Pearson says they are a very formidable team.

Pearson: “They’re a good basketball team, and that Raccoon River Conference is beating up on each other, and they still have a good post player and will give us a good challenge on Thursday.”
