Two new state of the art additions to the Knoxville Hospital and Clinics are officially running and fully operational.

The new Weiler Foundation Specialty Clinics and Don and Margaret Long Infusion Center at KHC have been projects a long time in the making. The new infusion center will provide additional cancer care options in Knoxville, and those affected may not have to travel to the metro for the same level of treatment.

The Weiler Foundation Specialty Clinics, home to 24 visiting specialists, is located on the south side of the hospital and shares a waiting room with the Dr. Earl J. McKeever Clinic for family medicine. This new addition was made possible by a $5 Million donation from Weiler. The Don & Margaret Long Infusion Center, located on the southeast side of the hospital, provides private treatment spaces featuring 12 treatment chairs with room for loved one support, as well as new technology and equipment. This addition was made possible through a $1.4 million donation from Don and Margaret Long and additional support from Panthers vs. Cancer. CEO Kevin Kincaid said these additions would not be possible without the support of the community.

“I cannot do it without the philanthropic support. None of this would’ve happened. When I talk to new employees everytime and when we have employee forums, we are not a county facility. We are provided no tax support. We are a private organization, so every single penny we get it because someone chose to come here. They could go all sorts of places. There are a lot of really good places in our area for healthcare. When people pick us and they pick us on a consistent basis and more people pick us it allows us to do these things and better serve our community.”

Knoxville Hospital and Clinics are also in the early stages of completely redoing the emergency room at the hospital, which is expected to be finished around this time next year.
