The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.

The board approved rotary club plaques to be placed on the courthouse gazebo, VA Campus parking for the 2024 Knoxville Nationals, and a request to post the Marion County Development Assistant Director Position. Also,  the board approved a new agreement for City of Pella Local Option Sales and Service Tax (LOSST) distribution. The new agreement is a two year agreement in which the City of Pella would receive 8% of countywide LOSST funds, which is the same as the last agreement, and $25,000 of these funds would be designated as the county’s local match for the Enhance Iowa grant application toward the Pella Recreation Center.

At the conclusion of the meeting, during the board updates, there was discussion between Supervisor Chair Mark Raymie and local citizens in regards to the EMS essential services tax.
