The Pella Public Library will host Lance Roorda for a program titled, “Emotional Well-Being in Winter” on Tuesday, February 27th.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is a diagnosable form of depression that is sometimes known as “winter depression” because the symptoms are usually more apparent and more severe during the winter. The public is invited to come and learn what community resources and strategies are available to help ease the symptoms of seasonal affective disorder. Roorda is a practicing mental health therapist and the owner of Eunoia Counseling in Pella and Oskaloosa. Lance works with a wide range of clients suffering from various mental, emotional, and relational issues and openly battles SAD every Iowa winter.

The program will be held at 2:00 pm in the Library’s Meeting Room and is free and open to the public. Contact the library at 641-628-4268 for questions about the program.
