Pleasantville senior Dayson Leerhoff enters the basketball 1,000 point club as he continues to add to his impressive athletics resume.
Leerhoff was able to reach the 1,000 point mark in just three seasons with the Trojans as he was not able to play his freshman year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Leerhoff was also a second team selection for all state football this year and has been a dominating force for the Trojans on the gridiron and hardwood. Leerhoff says it’s a blessing to now be in the Pleasantville history books.
“It’s a great thing. It’s something I really didn’t imagine coming into it because I wasn’t able to play my freshman year because of Covid. Sophomore year I came in and had a big role on the team and was able to rack up some points then. My junior year I was able to continue that and it has been a blessing to be able to continue that and be in the history of Pleasantville.”
Leerhoff has averaged 20.7 points per game for the Trojans this season and has helped lead his team to the district finals. Leerhoff will continue his athletic career after graduation as he will attend Briar Cliff University to play football.
