Pella Christian High School’s music department will be presenting a winter music concert on Thursday.
The concert will feature performances by the concert band, Cantabile, concert choir and chamber choir. Pella Christian High School Choir Director Aaron Fitzgerald, says that the concert will also feature an original music piece that was composed by students and Pella native Kaylin Vos. Fitzgerald said that the process of composing the piece began with conversations he had with Vos in the fall, and then he and the students began writing the text for the piece.
“We got to work on that and it’s been a few month process, as we’ve been working through what that might include in terms of the difficulty of the piece as well as the text of the piece. And so, once we kind of got the go ahead, we started by selecting our text and actually had the students vote on a scripture reference, and so it’s all based around Isaiah 43:2.”
Pella Christian’s winter music concert on Thursday will begin at 7:00pm in the Vermeer Auditorium at the high school. Hear more about the Pella Christian High School winter music concert from Aaron Fitzgerald on an upcoming Let’s Talk Pella.
