A Harvey man is accused of injuring a child under the age of two years old this week.

According to the criminal complaint filed in Marion County District Court, a Marion County Sheriff’s Sergeant responded to Knoxville Area Community Hospital regarding an infant who had suffered an injury. After meeting with a health and human services worker at the hospital, the sergeant started an investigation. According to the sergeant’s findings, 26-year old Tory Lynn Eugene Williams was feeding the child in his home in Harvey. Williams allegedly told the sergeant that he became frustrated by the child’s crying, and grabbed the child by the arms twice. The sergeant’s report indicated that Williams picked the child up by the arms and heard a popping noise. The baby was taken to the hospital, where it was determined the infant had sustained a broken right arm between the shoulder and elbow.

Williams is charged with a Class D felony for child endangerment causing bodily injury.
