The City of Indianola is holding an open house next week for the public to view and learn more about the Parks and Open Space Master Plan. The Parks and Open Space Master Plan is a document put together in partnership with MSA Professional Services, that lays out the information regarding the current and future expansion plans for parks and open spaces across the city. Parks and Rec Director Doug Bylund tells KNIA News the department surveyed the public to help put the plan together, which will helped determine the needs and wants of local parks.
“What are the new things, what are the things that need to be improved? What is the useful life cycle of the Moats Park playground for example or any of those other playgrounds? Do we need to start thinking about replacing those or is it 15 years, 20 years? So getting all that information is important.”
The open house is on Wednesday, March 6th from 5-7pm at the Indianola Activity Center. Find a link to the presentation made to the Indianola City Council regarding the Parks and Open Space Master Plan below.
