Knoxville High School Student Riley Reid is selling a goat for her FFA Supervised Agricultural Experience project at the Marion County Fair, with the proceeds going to Make-A-Wish.
An SAE project is for FFA members to get experience in the agriculture industry. Reid is an active member in the Knoxville FFA chapter, where she is the secretary and her local 4-H club where she serves as president. 3D Livestock based out of Tracy, IA is Reid’s’ sponsor for this SAE project as they donated the goat. Reid will show the goat at the fair and then it will be sold at the livestock auction, with all proceeds going to Make-A-Wish. Reid says she wants to give back to the organization that was influential in her life when she was three years old.
“I really enjoy showing goats throughout my years in 4-H and FFA. I was a Make-A-Wish kid myself so I want to pay it forward to other kids around my age who have a life medical condition like what I had.”
Those who would like to donate can call (641) 871-2149.
The 2024 Marion County Fair is July 12-18th. Hear more from Riley Reid on an upcoming Let’s Talk Knoxville.
