trevor-veenstra-signing

Pella Christian senior three-sport athlete Trevor Veenstra has signed his national letter of intent to continue his academic and track and field careers at Liberty University next year.

Veenstra enters the start of his final track and field season having already become the Eagles’ program record holder in both the shot put and discus. At the Little Hawkeye Conference meet in Grinnell last year, he recorded a shot put throw of 57’11”, besting the previous school record of 57’2” set by Zech Schiebout in 1996. Two weeks after becoming the shot put record holder, Veenstra again rewrote Pella Christian’s record books. At North Mahaska’s Steve Ehert Relays in April of 2023, his throw of 178’2” overtook his older brother Blake’s record of 173’1” in 2019.

In addition to breaking the school records in the throwing events last spring, Veenstra won the Class 2A state discus title and competed in the Drake Relays where he took second in the discus and third in the shot put.
