While one win was not where anyone on the Melcher-Dallas Boys Basketball Squad from coaches to players were expecting ,that was where the Saints finished the season. More times than not the Saints got down big early and were never able to pull out of the large hole. Coach Matt Bennett tells KNIA Sports that while it would have been easy to give up, he says they stayed with it and always played to the end.

Bennett: “The biggest thing I can say about my team is they never gave up whether they were down by 30 or 50 they never once gave up. I’m looking to get them into a summer league so they can have a basketball in their hands.”

Much of the roster had no varsity time coming into the season. Bennett adds that will be a bigger factor of what he hopes is an improved season next year.
