In February, the City of Pella lost a long-term employee of the Electric Department, Mike Norman. A release from the city said Mike was dedicated to his team and always leading through his example, and that his deep care and love for his family was inspirational. Mayor Don DeWaard had the opportunity to issue a proclamation during this week’s Pella City Council meeting to formally recognize Mike for his dedicated 29 years of service to the City of Pella. Additionally, Norman served as the head coach of the Pella bowling program, revitalizing the sanctioned sport at the school back in 2015-16 and leading the program until his health worsened.
